We are delighted to be working with the London Borough of Camden and architectural design practice Purcell to develop a wayfinding scheme for Camden Town Hall; the Grade II listed building is currently undergoing a major refit which will improve sustainability, environmental performance and reduce running costs.
The Town Hall, which originally opened in 1937, is located on the junction of Euston Road and Judd Street and is extremely grand, designed in the neo-classical style, imbuing confidence, optimism and civic pride.
We are looking to build on these qualities with a wayfinding scheme which is intuitive and compliments the beautiful internal and external architecture both in terms of materiality and application. We’re also carrying out a study to have the council motto ‘not for self but for all’ stone-carved in to the entrance steps.
The refurbished Town Hall is scheduled to re-open in Autumn 2021.
